Partial Client List

What are your rates?

My rates for voicing and editing IVR prompts are $240 US per hour. On-Hold systems (5-10 paragraphs with music mixed underneath) are $350. Long-form narration (documentary, internal video, learning modules, streaming audio for the web) is $450 for the first 10 completed minutes, $650 for up to and including 20 completed minutes, and so on. Broadcast (radio or TV) 30 second spots; vary according to the markets in which the spot will air and the intended length of use; generally speaking, there is a base price of $250 for the basic voice-over and additional charges factored in, depending on market/length of use.

All scripts for any projects must be submitted to me for a finalized quote before payment is made.

What methods of payment do accept?

I accept Visa, MasterCard, and Paypal. Pre-payment is required before your job is scheduled.

What is your turnaround time?

If payment and a finalized script is received by my office by 12:00 Noon, Mountain Standard Time, I can usually turn it around the same day; next day, worse case scenario. If I anticipate there to be a delay in this turnaround time (due to being out of the office, or committed to a larger, time-sensitive project) all efforts will be taken to let you know of the delay and to schedule your job as soon as possible.

I do not record evenings or on the weekends.

What is your policy with regards to re-do's?

If there are changes or additions to the original script after the recording, the customer is expected to pay the regular rate for the redo. If a redo is determined to be necessary due to mis-pronunciation or mistakes on my part, naturally, that's a no-charge redo.

I am capable of a great variety of styles and "reads". Every attempt is made to capture – stylistically – the creative "mood" and "feel" you are after for your IVR prompts. I will occasionally get that wrong, or misunderstand what stylistic "footprint" you'd like me to create. I am more than willing to redo projects if – on the off chance – I happen to not hit mark with regards to what you and your team had envisioned. I try my best to establish in what direction you'd like me go with your prompts before recording….making stylistic redos a rare occurrence.

May we schedule a phone call to discuss my project?

I find that most pre-production questions and issues can be resolved via e-mail. Send your script for your project, and provide me with any other details which might be pertinent (your deadline, desired file format, tone/mood/feel you envision for your system). I will get back to you with a substantive quote. We can schedule a call if you still have questions, but my time is best spent in the booth, recording.

What script format do you prefer?

Try to avoid Xcel spreadsheets, which were intended for data entry, and not word processing. Sentences in Xcel have a tendency to stretch – horizontally – over several pages. *If* using Xcel, please format it so that the sentences wrap around and are readable on the same 8 x 10 page. Much more preferred is setting up a simple grid in Microsoft Word, for example, which features the prompt in its entirety contained in its own box, and the prompt's name in the box next to it, like so:

Prompt 1 Thank you for calling
Prompt 2 Please enter your PIN number
Prompt 3 ...followed by pound.

…no confusion about what's considered to be a "prompt" or what to call it.

I will record what's written, so be very exact in your wording. Please provide pronunciation tools for proper and place names which stand a good chance of mis-pronunciation.
